Valentine Concert of Love Stories
The Florence Symphony Orchestra, under the direction of Dr. Terry Roberts, will perform a Valentine’s Concert on February 13, 2012 at the FMU Performing Arts Center. In honor of Valentine’s Day the FSO will be performing music of Love Stories including Romeo and Juliet, Boris Godunow, Samson and Delilah, and Carmen, followed by a champagne reception.
Tchaikovsky’s Romeo and Juliet Overture Fantasy will start out the evening of love. Based on Shakespeare’s famed play Tchaikovsky’s Romeo and Juliet Overture Fantasy as performed by the FSO is sure to melt hearts. The next piece in the program is Love Music from “Boris Godunow” by Modest Mussorgsky. Then the FSO performs another story of lovers with the piece Danse Bacchanale from “Samson and Delilah” by Camille Saint-Saens. Finally, this evening of romantic music will end with a Suite from George Bizet’s “Carmen”.
