Soul of the Pee Dee Opens at the Art Trail Gallery Friday, February 3rd
The Art Trail Gallery cordially invites you to the opening reception for the Soul of the Pee Dee exhibit Friday, February 3rd from 5:30 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Everyone is welcome and there is no charge for attendance.
Soul of the Pee Dee is in honor of Black History month and displays works from approximately 40 artists from Maryland to Georgia to the Low Country to the Pee Dee. A framed scarf from well-known South Carolina artist Jonathan Green will be on display during the exhibit. The sale of the scarf supports the Florence Alumnae Chapter Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. Jabberwock Scholarship Program. Information on how one might purchase the scarf will be available at the Gallery. Works on display will include everything from photography to fiber to metal to paintings and sculptural pieces.
Artists showing works in the Soul of the Pee Dee exhibit include Andy Tate, Angelmont (Russell) Howard, April Artis, Bernice Tate, Bruce Graves, Carolyn Govan, Chant'e Glass-Walley, Christopher Davis, Ellie Becoat, lll, Flora Youmans, Harry McFadden, Hezikyah Olenja, Jada Pompey, James Hunter, James St. Clair, Jacqueline Jenkins, Jeri Bolling, Jill Baltzell, Jonathan Green, Jocelyn Hairston, Kelvin James, La Toya Thompson, Leo Woodberry, Michelle Frazier, Neil McClendon, Pat Singletary, Patz Fowle, Pearl Fryar, Rachel Jones, Regina Brown, Ronald Beverly, Ronnie Singletary, Serena Hall, Spirit Smith, Suzanne Muldrow, Tiffany Thomas, Tisha Gary Ward, and Vera Martin.
The exhibit runs until Friday, March 9th. The vast majority of the works will be available for purchase. The Art Trail Gallery is open Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 11:30 a.m. – 2:30 p.m. and Fridays from 5:30 p.m. – 8 p.m. The Gallery is located at 135 S. Dargan St., in Florence, SC.
