February 11th: Blues Artist Set To Perform at the FMU Performing Arts Center

An evening with blues master Scott Ainslie is set for Saturday, Feb. 11 in the Black Box Theatre at the Francis Marion University Performing Arts Center.

Ainslie is a fine performer and artist-education who came of age during the Civil Rights era in Virginia. His work reflects his reverence and affection for both African and American culture and music, and demonstrates how much we – as Americans – have in common. Scott is a Phi Beta Kappa and honor graduate of Washington and Lee University. His 5th CD called Thunder’s Mouth is just completed.

His show is the seventh of 10 shows in the “Black Box Events Series” being performed during the PAC’s inaugural year. The Black Box Theatre provides an intimate setting for this kind of one person show.

In addition to the “Black Box Events Series” there are four others during the PAC’s season that runs until May of 2012.  Those series include, Broadway plays, concerts, family oriented shows and a variety series as well as the acts in the smaller, more intimate Black Box Theatre. Information on the complete season is available at www.fmupac.org.

Tickets for the show begin at $10 and may be purchased at www.fmupac.org, via telephone at (843) 661-4444, and at the FMU Performing Arts Center Box Office. Telephone and personal ticket sales are available Monday through Friday between 12-5 p.m. Subject to availability, tickets may be available for purchase at the door.

The PAC is located in downtown Florence at the intersection of Dargan and Evans Streets.
