Live@Central welcomes Dr. Larry Nelson, retired history professor emeritus of Francis Marion University, to Central United Methodist Church on Wednesday, April 18, 2012.
Dr. Nelson will share the moving saga of Hannah Coker of Society Hill, mother of gravely wounded Confederate soldier James Coker, as she goes behind the Union lines to save her son's life. James had been seriously wounded in the preliminary fighting leading up to the Battle of Lookout Mountain near Chattanooga, Tennessee. Hannah demonstrates remarkable faith, perseverance, and ingenuity as she executes an epic journey against
seemingly insurmountable odds. Her story was written as a witness and testimony of her faith for her descendants for posterity.
