The Fleur de Lis Strings will conclude the concert series for Live@Central on Wednesday, April 25, at 6:15 p.m. in the sanctuary of Central United Methodist Church. The students in this chamber orchestra are from the studio of Dr. Sherry Woods and are directed by former Florence Symphony Orchestra director, Dr. Benjamin Woods. The music for the evening’s performance will include the first movement of Vivaldi’s Concerto in d minor for two solo violins and orchestra, Mendelssohn's Sinfonia X, and Grieg’s Holberg Suite. The Fleur de Lis Strings will also premiere Jasmine Moon, a new work by Sherry Woods inspired by the poetry of Chinese Buddhist nuns and traditional Chinese melodies.
Live@Central presents a variety of programs each Wednesday night through spring. All programs are free of charge and open to the public. Nurseries are available.
