The Moscow Festival Ballet will appear at the Francis
Marion University Performing Arts Center on Monday, April 9 at 7:30pm.
The Ballet was founded in 1989 when legendary principal
dancer of the Bolshoi Ballet Sergei Radchenko sought to realize his vision of a
company which would bring together the highest classical elements of the great
Bolshoi and Kirov Ballet companies in an independent new company within the
framework of Russian classic ballet.
Leading dancers from across Russia have forged under
Radchenko’s direction an exciting new company staging productions of timeless
classics such as Giselle, Don Quixote, Paquita and Carmen. From their
repertoire, the ballet will perform Chopiniana/Romeo & Juliet.
The Moscow Festival is the fourth and final in the
dance series presented during the inaugural season of the PAC.
In addition to the “Dance Series” there are four others during
the PAC’s season that run until May of 2012. Those series include
Broadway shows, concerts, family oriented shows and a variety series as well as
a wide range of acts in the smaller, more intimate Black Box Theatre.
Information on the complete season is available at www.fmupac.org.
Tickets for the ballet begin at $30 and may be purchased
at www.fmupac.org,
via telephone at (843) 661-4444, and at the FMU Performing Arts
Center Box Office. Telephone and personal ticket sales are available Monday
