The TENTH annual SPIRIT of CENTRAL

Wednesday, June 26th

Dinner @ 5:30pm, Patriotic Celebration @ 6:15pm

Starting @ 5:30pm - We will enjoy a delicious all American Dinner – hamburgers/hotdogs, potato salad, corn on the cob, green beans, watermelon, apple pie and ice cream.

Cost will be $5 per adult and $2 per child

Please call 843.662.3218 to make reservations for dinner. No reservations are necessary if you are coming for program only.

"The Spirit of Central" is Centrals informal patriotic celebration of our nation.  The Patriotic Tribute Festivities will be coordinated by Wayne Jackson with a kick off honoring those who served us over these past 239 years; included will be Nick Townsend singing the National Anthem, The Pledge of Allegiance lead by Rivers Crouse, and the traditional children's STARS and STRIPES flag parade lead by Teresa Brunson. After the flag parade, the children will go to the playground for games and treats from the ice cream truck.

The Keynote Speaker will be the Honorable James E. Lockmey, serving on the South Carolina Court of Appeals. He will deliver an inspiring patriotic message.

Members of the Florence Veterans Honor Guard will demonstrate an American Flag Folding Ceremony.

We have great entertainment in store after our Patriotic Tribute. THE PLAIDS, presented byLive@Central, a fabulous group from Lake City, will perform hits from the 50's and 60's. THE PLAIDS have been entertaining audiences across eastern South Carolina for more than 15 years with favorite hits and doo-wop that will bring back fond memories of yesteryear! If you have not heard them before, you are in for a real treat!

The community is invited to this free annual patriotic celebration of our nation's history.  Central United Methodist is located at the corner of South Irby Street and West Cheves Street in downtown Florence.

This will be a great opportunity for fun and fellowship. Please join us, and feel free to bring friends and family. A nursery will be provided. Remember reservations for dinner necessary before Tuesday, June 25.
