Travis Tritt to perform at the FMU PAC in February 2014

Multi-platinum and two-time Grammy award-winning country music legend Travis Tritt will perform at the Francis Marion University Performing Arts Center on Feb. 8 at 7:30 p.m.
Tritt’s Florence show is part of a regional tour in which he will boast his abilities as both a singer and a musician. The show is an acoustical show, featuring a limited backup band. He is set to perform songs from his new critically acclaimed album "The Calm After..." featuring a duet with his oldest daughter, Tyler Reese. The new project is an updated version of Tritt’s last album, "The Storm."
This show is the first announced “PAC Plus” event, one of several anticipated additions to the PAC’s regular 2013-14 season schedule. Laura Sims, director of the PAC, said the center is constantly looking at special events it can bring to its patrons in Florence and the Pee Dee.
"We're delighted to add Travis Tritt to our enviable list of programming for season three,” said Sims. “A stellar line-up of artists reflects the commitment we have to offer high-quality programming for the broader audience we serve.”
Taking the stage since the early ’90s, Tritt started his career as somewhat of a bad boy with a heart of gold. Tritt’s debut album was released n 1990, and he released an album a year for three years before his fourth came out in 1994. Those albums spawned hits such as “Foolish Pride,” “Can I Trust You With My Heart?” and “Here’s A Quarter (Call Someone Who Cares).”
Tickets for Tritt’s Florence performance will go on sale Nov. 5 and the cost is $50.
This special show augments the PAC’s regular season slate, which features a host of the most memorable performing artists to the Pee Dee region in a first-class theater that is affordable, accessible – and where parking is always free.
From the Broadway classics revived and arranged by Neil Berg's 102 Years of Broadway to the seasoned sound of the Claire Lynch Band, the PAC is back with five different series performing on the main stage that include Broadway and more, Americana, family, concert and variety.
