March 12-15: Curtains at the Blanding Street Auditorium in Lake City

FTC and The Lake City Community Theatre presents Curtains
"Curtains" is a musical comedy whodunit by the creators of "Cabaret" and "Chicago". With music by John Kander, lyrics by Fred Ebb based on the book and concept by Peter Stone, the musical is a send-up of backsage murder plots, set in 1959 Boston, Massachusetts and follows the fallout when the supremely untalented star of "Robbin Hood of the Old West", Jessica Crenshaw, is murdered during her opening night curtain call. It is up to Lt. Frank Cioffi who arrives to solve the mystery and finds himself drawn into the dramatic world of the production, to save the show and maybe find love before the show reopens without getting himself killed.
The cast of 30 consists of many familiar faces as well as several new actors from surrounding areas who have gotten bitten by the acting bug. Betty Frances Stone plays the part of Jessica, Kevin Buchanan is Lt. Cioffi and Amy Lee Kirby plays Nikki Harris.  Happy Pendergraft is Christerpher Belling, Debbie Sulenski is Carmen Bernstein and J. Cliff Gardner plays Sasha Iljinsky the musical director of the play within a play.
Dates for the production are Thursday March 12, Friday March 13, Saturday March 14 at 7:30pm and Sunday March 15at 3pm at the Blanding Street Auditorium, 125 S. Blanding Street, Lake City, SC.
Tickets will go on sale at The Greater Lake City Chamber of Commerce (843-374-8611) during Chamber hours 10am to 4pm starting on Monday March 2, 2015. They will also be on sale 1 hour prior to each performance at the auditorium. Tickets are $20 for adults and $15 for students through 12th grade.

This project is made possible through funding from the Florence Regional Arts Alliance's Quarterly Grants Program, which is funded in part by a generous award from Honda of South Carolina, the South Carolina Arts Commission and the John and Susan Bennett Memorial Arts Fund of the Coastal Community Foundation of SC

  1. Lake City is about 30 min from Flo but I'd like to go see this for my birthday. Not sure which day will work for everyone, so please let me know if you'd be interested. Inbox, call, email, text or message me on Facebook. :)
