Go Dutch with Dylan

HARTSVILLE SONGWRITER GOES DUTCH
Dylan Sneed, Black Creek Arts Present Go Dutch With Dylan

Last year Texas-born Americana songwriter Dylan Sneed met five friends in a 125-year old farmhouse in the Low Country of South Carolina to record his latest album, Texodus. The five-day session was a flurry of activity, as the group worked day and night tracking 14 songs. And best of all, it was completely paid for before they even pushed "record."

During the previous two months Dylan raised money to fund the project through the website Kickstarter.com. His fans came through, pledging 120% of the budget.

This September, Sneed, now a resident of Hartsville, SC, will take Texodus to another Low Country, The Netherlands. Before embarking on his first European tour, this songwriter that the Columbia, SC Free Times described as "a sober Townes Van Zandt" will perform at Go Dutch With Dylan, an intimate concert at the Black Creek Arts Center(BCAC) in Hartsville. This special event will take place on Saturday, August 27. There will be two full-band performances, 7 p.m. and 10 p.m.

In the spirit of "going Dutch," every ticket will count for two seats. There are also several ticket packages available, including two-for-one deals on copies of Texodus, tee shirts, and authentic, original Go Dutch With Dylan letterpress posters from Hatch Show Print in Nashville, one of the world's premier letterpress printers.
Ticket packages start at $20 for two seats and are available through Dylan's website (Dylansneed.com), or Brown Paper Tickets (Brownpapertickets.com). Those interested may also call BCAC at (843) 332-6234 or the Brown Paper Tickets toll-free, 24-7 ticket line at 1-800-838-3006.

Dylan currently holds the #2 and #5 spots for albums on the South Carolina Roots Radio Airplay Chart, and his song "No Worse For The Wear" is at #37 on the Roots Music Report Folk Chart, and climbing.

Shuffle Magazine said Texodus "firmly establishes Sneed as a strong Americana songsmith." The Dallas Observer said Sneed's music exhibits "the best side of true Americana: music of passion and skill that can move an audience with a whisper or a roar.”
