Discover Kumihimo – The Art of Japanese Weaving
Participants will learn the basics of an 8 strand kumihimo
round braid in this fun and addicting necklace class! Kumihimo braids can be
made from any yarns, hemp, leather, cords, beads, shells or strings. The
finished braids can be used for many things, such as necklaces, bracelets, key
chains, pet collars, pillow edging, belts ………the list could go on and on. So
many possibilities!
The most enticing part of this technique, is that you can
work on these braids almost anywhere you go, including long boring car trips
(as long as you’re not driving). The materials and tools are very portable!
Join us at 104 Will G Lane, Cheraw, on July 23 @ 6:30 pm
until 8:30pm. The class fee will purchase a kit and the supplies to make a
beaded necklace similar to the picture above. Brenda Branson, the instructor
will walk you through step‐by‐step, and later, on your own with the detailed
instructions included and your own loom, you’ll be making braid after braid.
Kits will be available in several different colors. This
class/demo is geared for the student who has never done any braiding, however,
those who have done some braiding are also welcome. We will jump start to
weaving with beads, so come prepared and stay with us!

inch necklace, end caps, clasps, loom, bobbins and instructions.
