October 4th-7th: Jazz! Carolina in downtown Hartsville


  • Jazz!Carolina 2012 is the 15th Annual Celebration of a Musical Tradition Born in the South. In 2003, Jazz!Carolina was Named a Most Outstanding Festival for a Community Between 5,000 & 15,000 by the SC Department of Parks, Recreation & Tourism.

    The events for Jazz!Carolina 2012 are scheduled for the first weekend of October Thursday through Sunday. The block party is Saturday night from 7-10pm on the 100 block of East Carolina Ave in Downtown Hartsville.

    Thursday, October 4

    "A Taste of Jazz" Red Carpet Reception and Kickoff for Jazz!Carolina 2012Includes wine tasting, appetizers and dessert & live Jazz! Catering by "Saffron".

    Hartsville’s own ‘After Dark’ will perform.

    Friday, Oct. 5
    Jazz!Crawl
    From 6-8pm you can dine in one place, or pop in to several for tapas, and enjoy live Jazz all along the way. At 8pm all of the acts will converge on Centennial Park for a live improv jazz session. Truly a once in a lifetime opportunity! Refreshments will be available for purchase at Hobnob Gourmet. Sponsored by the City of Hartsville

    Saturday, Oct. 6
    Jazz!Carolina 2012 Downtown Block Party ft Ken Wilmont, Jr
    Event is free to the public, but VIP seating is available through $75 Table Sponsorship. Each round table seats 8 people. No coolers, please. Call Hartsville Downtown Development Association Office at (843) 332-1600 for more information.

    Sunday, Oct. 7
    Jazz!On The Green
    A series of live music performances by a Jazz Quartet, local choirs and praise bands. Free admission. "Bizzell's Food & Spirits" will have picnic lunches for sale on site. Bring a lawn chair.
    Noon - 3pm | Burry Park

    Also on Sunday, October 7th:

    Hartsville Chamber Ensemble Concert
    Under the direction of Anna Hill with guest musicians Ken Wilmot, Jr and Fredrico Pivetta
    Admission if free.
    7pm at St. Bartholomew's Episcopal Churhc
