September 27: Finalist Compete in Top of the Pot Competition

The Clay Pot Coffee Shop 2^nd  Anniversary “Top Of The Pot” Singer/Songwriter Competition will present a showcase of local talent in The William H. Johnson Courtyard on Saturday September 27^th; 5pm – 10pm.

The Top five finalist from August and September competition rounds will compete for the winning title of the “Top of the Pot” and the following prizes:
1^st Place - Recording Package, Compliments Southern Harmony and $300.00 Cash Prize,
 2^nd Place $75.00,
3^rd Place $50.00 gift card Compliments First Reliance Bank,  
4^th  and  5^th   Place $25.00 Gift Certificate Courtesy of  Musical Depot.  

The “Top of the Pot” Top five finalists are Tyler James Cook, Jessie Sargent, Grover Windham, Dawn Larson, and John Bazen.  The songs are judged on lyrics, originality of content, melody quality, audience response, general/overall impression and uniqueness of presentation.    
New for 2014 “The People’s Choice Award” sponsored by Florence’s Speak Easy Band is offering a $25.00 cash prize.  All registered contestants are invited and encouraged to perform their song entry at the final competition on September 27^th and let the audience vote for The Peoples Choice Winner!

Peggy Brown, Owner of the Clay Pot, “The Art movement is on the fast track in Florence County, and downtown Florence you can find live entertainment on almost any given night.  Clay Pot is host to many forms of local art, so supporting and promoting our singer/songwriters with a chance to display their original works, and be center stage is another part of the growing arts culture. The “Top of the Pot” performing arts competition is a small way for our local artists to benefit from their talents they so often share with our community.”
