February 3: The John Brown Quintet at the PAC

Enjoy a morning of jazz with the John Brown Quintet on Tuesday, February 3^rd at the PAC! 

In addition to its educational components, the program will feature performances with music from the BeBop & Hard Bop eras of jazz as well as original pieces from the quintet. Learn about the underlying elements of jazz, the role of improvisation, the structure of a jazz combo and more! The performance will give the audience an opportunity to visualize and hear each musical component and the combination of instruments and techniques that bring together a jazz piece.

The John Brown Quintet: A Tour of Jazz will include two performances, at 9am and 11am. Each performance will last approximately one hour. Tickets are $5 for admission and may be purchased in person at the Box Office, 201 S. Dargan St, in downtown Florence. The FMU Performing Arts Center Box Office is open Monday through Friday, noon – 5pm; however, the Box Office will be closed on Monday, January 19^th in observance of the Martin Luther King, Jr. holiday.
