September 7: Lake City Community Chorale, All Committed Singers Welcome!

The Lake City Community Chorale's inaugural performance--"Hallelujah: A Choral 

Celebration for Easter"-- took place on April 13, 2014.  Preparations for that 

performance began at Lake City United Methodist Church under the direction of 

Erick J. Figueras and initially involved members of that church’s Chancel Choir 

only. However, as additional singers were recruited from Lake City and 

surrounding communities to supplement that choir, it became 

abundantly clear that there was sufficient talent to found a new community 

ensemble capable of preparing and performing fine choral music based in Lake 

City. The LCCC will offer local audiences eclectic holiday and a Spring concerts 

each year and plans are underway to tour other cities.  In addition, 

the LCCC is reaching out to students, and supporting local school and church 

choirs and choir directors.  Above all, the members are dedicated to sustaining 

fine music making in this community for generations to come. Rehearsals are 

held at Lake City United Methodist Church and all capable singers are welcome.

Call for Singers - Hartsville Children's Chorale and Hartsville Community Chorus

HCC is looking for Singers!

The Hartsville Community Choir and the Hartsville Children’s Chorale 

are both looking for new singers for their spring concerts. 

The HCC Spring Concert will be held May 3, 2014 at 7 p.m. Interested singers may join the group beginning Tuesday, January 7, 2014 at 6 p.m. at Hartsville High School (for high school aged and adults).  The Spring program for adults is “Broadway and Boom” featuring medleys from “Phantom of the Opera,” “Les Miserables” and “Rent” as well as the famous “1812 Overture!” 

 

The Children’s Chorale Spring Concert will be April 26, 2014 at 7 p.m.   Interested singers may join the group beginning Tuesday, January 7, 2014 at St. Bartholomew’s Church at 4 p.m. (for children through 8th grade).   For more information about the Children’s Chorale e-mail Sandra Howard at san@sandrahoward.com or call 843-409-3155.
