June 29th: Grady Brown, Lynda Graham to lead beach music and shag party at the ATG

Radio personality Grady Brown will be playing beach music on June 29th at the Art Trail Gallery in downtown Florence. Grady's appearance is part of the Sand in my Shoes Art Show, which features works in all media by Pee Dee artists.

The Tri-City Shag Club will also be there to demonstrate and teach basic shag steps. Lynda Graham will be leading the Tri-City Shag Club.

The fun will take place between 6 and 8pm.  Admission is free.  The Art Trail Gallery is located at 185 West Evans Street in downtown Florence. 

January 27th: Florence Library to host book signing for Tom Poland

Friends of Florence County Library System will be hosting a book signing for Save The Last Dance For Me, A Love Story of the Shag and the Society of Stranders by authors Tom Poland and Phil Sawyer on January 27 from 3-5pm.  There is no admission fee to this event.

There will be Shag dancers demonstrating the art of this wonderful SC State dance. Books will be available for purchase at the event.
