The Florence Short Film Showcase is now accepting short film submissions for the 2013 showcase, taking place on February 8, 2013 in Florence, SC.
Filmmakers are encouraged to submit short films directed by a Black person, tells a story of the Black experience, and/or features a Black person in a leading role in all genres – narrative (drama, comedy, horror, and action), animation, and documentaries, no longer than 40 minutes in running time. Deadline for submissions is October 8, 2012, with the late deadline being November 8, 2012. Making a successful debut this year, the Florence Short Film Showcase will once again honor Black History Month by screening Black-themed short films in a concentrated setting to bring awareness to the art of short films and creative content by and about Blacks from the African Diaspora. The Florence Short Film Showcase is a unique enrichment event, presenting the opportunity to promote the arts in the form of film, possibly inspiring county residents to become filmmakers.
