The Largest Art Celebration in the Southeast is Coming to Lake City

LAKE CITY ANNOUNCES ARTFIELDS:  LARGEST ART CELEBRATION IN THE SOUTHEAST EMERGING AND ESTABLISHED ARTISTS INVITED TO COMPETE FOR $100,000 IN CASH PRIZES

This classic Southern town will grow a bumper crop of artists - and art lovers - next spring, when the first ArtFieldsSM competition and celebration blooms from April 19 - 28, 2013 in the town's streets and fields. This 10-day Epic Southern Artfest will welcome artists from 12 Southeastern states (Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia and West Virginia) to vie for $100,000 in cash prizes. The largest cash prizes of any art competition in the Southeast, these career-changing funds will be awarded as a Top Prize ($50,000), a People's Choice ($25,000), and a Juried Panel Winner ($25,000). Two-dimensional and three-dimensional artwork will be the categories for submission. Lake City boosters have created the ArtFields event to celebrate the town's rich history as a farming community. For generations, the town's fields yielded robust crops of strawberries, beans and other harvests. Now, they'll grow the largest art competition in the Southeast. In addition to inviting regional artists and their followers, organizers will fill the 10-day artfest with a bright canvas of activities, including voting for favorite artists, live concerts, celebrated Southern chefs, artist workshops, a farmers' market, crafts, dancing and more.
