October 4th: Artsville House Concerts presents Sarah McQuaid



What: Artsville House Concerts presents its fourth concert of the 2013 season, featuring UK songwriter and guitarist Sarah McQuaid.
Additional Info: Artsville House Concerts, entering its third year of operation, has already hosted performers from countries around the world including Sweden and Ireland. Concert goers enjoy an unprecedented level of intimacy with the performer along with a relaxed, smoke-free atmosphere. Seating for the concerts, which take place in private homes, is limited. Tickets are $15, and are available on Artsville’s website,welcometoartsville.com. Guests must purchase a ticket to learn the secret location of each concert.
Who: Sarah McQuaid’s musical output reflects her own eclectic background: she was born in Spain, raised in Chicago, holds dual US and Irish citizenship, and now lives in rural England. She spans the genres with both her beautifully crafted originals and her interpretations of material from around the globe and down the centuries. Sarah’s third solo album The Plum Tree and the Rose has drawn critical acclaim on both sides of the Atlantic: “Impeccable,” wrote fRoots (UK), while Midwest Record (USA) called it “low key but glorious and incendiary” and Hot Press (Ireland) said it “should feature on many end-of-year best-ofs.” Sarah will also teach a workshop based on her book The Irish DADGAD Guitar Book.
