February 13th: 'A Memory, a Monologue, a Rant, and a Prayer' at Coker College

"A Memory, a Monologue, a Rant and a Prayer" will be performed on February 13th at 7:30 in Davidson Hall on the campus of Coker College in Hartsville, SC. The performances will be done in the style of reader's theatre. It is meant to be a very moving, informative, engaging, and fun experience for anyone involved. There is no charge of admission but donations will be accepted at the door. All proceeds will go to support Pee Dee Coalition in Hartsville, SC.

"A Memory, a Monologue, a Rant and a Prayer" is a groundbreaking collection of monologues by world-renowned authors and playwrights both male and female, edited by Eve Ensler and Mollie Doyle. These diverse voices rise up in a collective roar to break open, expose, and examine the insidiousness of violence at all levels: brutality, neglect, a punch, even a put-down.

This production will be directed by Sierra Vennes and Rachel Buchanan, both current musical theatre students of Coker College. This event is sponsored by Coker organizations 1in4 No More, who's purpose is to take a stand and inform the campus and community of facts and myths on sexual assault as well as other violent or domesticated issues, and is in collaboration with Theatrical Expressions, the theatre club on campus.

If there are any questions on this event please feel free to contact Sierra Vennes by email at sierra.vennes@coker.edu.

On February 14th & 15th, Vennes and Buchanan will present 'The Vagina Monologues' in Davidson Auditorium.  Click here for more info.
