Foodie & Film Club Meetings

Each month there is a Marion Foodie meeting and a Marion Film Club meeting. Art at the Marion County Museum

It’s a Month of Art in the Marion County Museum! In addition to the exhibit of the winning art from the Blue Savannah Swamp Fox Chapter DAR Women in History Art contest, also on display during March in the Marion County Museum will be the artwork of Glen Hayes of Dillon. Museum Hours are 9 a.m.-noon and 1-5 p.m. Tuesday - Friday. Also on display throughout the museum are works of art from Marion County students of all grades. Support the arts and check it out!

This is a Mullins Downtown Live event.

Clay Rice silhouette artist and author, will be at Candlelight Gifts for a silhouette cutting and

book signing.  The cost is $42 per person, which includes two silhouettes; $10.00 for each additional

silhouette.  Anyone interested in this event should call 843-423-3791 to book an appointment.

March 29^th - 7pm (doors open at 6:30pm)

Thursday Night Live returns to Marion on March 1st

Drink Small to headline first Thursday Night Live Event of 2012 at the Marion Opera House

Marion's Opera House will come alive beginning March 1 at 7 p.m. when the "Thursday Night LIVE!" series begins again. The concerts will showcase regionally well-known talent on the historic Marion Opera House stage at 100 N. West Court St. Seating is limited to the first 250 concertgoers. Doors open at 6:30 p.m.

The concerts are free and the lineup is being developed, Marion Mayor Rodney Berry said. But, slated for March 8 is Bishopville native and Columbia resident Drink Small, dubbed the "The Blues Doctor," will feature his vintage picking and singing.

The series, popular this past summer, featured bluegrass, folk and more. The concert series is sponsored by the Marion Chamber of Commerce, Mullins Chamber of Commerce, Arts Council of Marion County, Main Street Revitalization and the City of Marion. For information, call Berry at (843) 423-8235.
