February 27th: Live@Central welcomes Christopher Judge

February 27th, LIVE@CENTRAL! welcomes Christopher Judge from the University of South Carolina Department of Archeology and the lead archeologist on the Johannes Kolb site excavation. Kolb and his family occupied the site in the middle 1730s until after his death in 1765, but evidence of human habitation has been discovered dating back 11,000 years and as late as the twentieth century. The site is located near Mechanicsville, S C in Darlington County on the Great Pee Dee River. The public access Public Viewing Day for the site will be Saturday, March 16. This is a great opportunity to get a “heads-up” on this important archeological dig right here in the Pee Dee and gives the attendees the opportunity to plan to visit the actual site on March 16. The LIVE@CENTRAL! program and the site visit are free.
This free program will be at 6:30 PM in the Spears Fellowship Hall of Central United Methodist Church at the corner of Irby and Cheves Streets in downtown Florence. An eclectic variety of free programs are offered each Wednesday Night at Central, fall thru spring, by LIVE@CENTRAL! and the public is invited. You are invited to participate in Central’s Wednesday Evening Meal served at 5:30 PM in the Davis Family Life Center. The meal is $5.00 for adults and $2.00 for children. Please call the Central Church office at 843-662-3218 by 11:00 AM the Monday before the meal to place your reservation. A nursery and children’s activities are provided. For more information, contact program coordinator Murray Jordan at 843-229-0379 or Linda Segars at 662-3218. Please bring your friends and join us for a great evening of entertainment, education and fellowship.
