In April, singer, songwriter, keyboardist and record producer, DeYoung will take center stage with his band, playing the music of STYX.
The Chicago-based group, STYX, originated in 1962 when 14-year-old DeYoung and brothers John and Chuck Panozzo got together in the basement of DeYoung’s childhood home to form one of America’s most successful and enduring bands. STYX has sold more than 35 million albums worldwide, and is the only band to ever record four consecutive triple platinum albums.
DeYoung was a huge part of their success. He wrote eight of the group’s nine top 10 singles.
Among the group’s best known hits are “Lady,” “Come Sail Away,” “Best of Times” and the 1979 People’s Choice Award winner, “Babe.” DeYoung’s singing talents have made his voice one of the most recognizable in the world. He has recorded seven solo albums including Desert Moon. The title track forDesert Moon achieved Top Ten status.
