SCDT 4 (ages 6 - 8) 4:15 - 5:00
SCDT 2 & SCDT 3 (ages 8 -11) 5:15 - 6:00
SCDT 1 & SCDT 2 (ages 11 and up) 6:15 - 7:15
A non refundable registration fee of $15 is required for the audition and must be submitted with the application. You can arrive early to fill out the application. If unsure of which level you should audition, please go by the current age of your child.

March 20, 21 and 22: The South Carolina Dance Theatre presents Cinderella
The SCDT brings a classic fairytale to life with the presentation of the family favorite, Cinderella. A perfect story for anyone who believes in magic, the blended beauty and artistry of the ballet bring to life the story of a beautiful mistreated heroine, the requisite wicked step-mother and wicked step-sisters, a kind and gentle fairy godmother, a magical coach, a royal ball with a prince in attendance, the daunting stroke of midnight and a lost glass slipper. Most importantly, the fairy tale ballet ends with the classic “happy ever after” ending.
Performances will take place at the FMU Performing Arts Center, March 20-22. Tickets are $32/27/22 for adults and all student tickets are $15. Specific performance times will be posted on the website.

December 13th - 15th: SC Dance Theatre presents 'The Nutcracker'
The South Carolina Dance Theatre brings the magic of "The Nutcracker" to the Francis Marion Performing Arts Center on December 13, 14 and 15. Performances are on Friday and Saturday nights at 7:30pm with matinees at 3pm on Saturday and Sunday. Ticket prices range from $22 to $32 and all student/children tickets are $15.

December 7th - 9th: SC Dance Theatre to perform Nutcracker at FMU PAC
The Holiday Season each year begins with the traditional and classic Nutcracker Ballet. Presented by the South Carolina Dance Theatre which begins its 35th season, the Company will present four performance of the Nutcracker on December 7th, 8th and 9th at the Francis Marion University Performing Arts Center. A traditional part of the holiday season, this beloved classic is a must see for the whole family. Set to Tchaikovsky’s famous music, the ballet features elaborate scenery, professional costuming, intricate choreography and riveting dance, all of which make for an exceptional experience for young and old.
Performance times are Friday, December 7th at 7:30 pm, a matinee on Saturday, December 8th at 3:00 pm, an evening performance on Saturday, December 8th at 7:30 pm, and a Sunday matinee on December 9th at 3:00 pm. Reservations are available by calling the PAC box office at 661-4444 during box office hours of 12:00 pm to 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday. For those patrons who wish to obtain tickets online, you may visit the online box office at www.fmupac.org. Ticket prices are $32/$27/$22 in accordance with the three levels of seating established by the PAC. All student tickets are $15.00. The ballet is under the direction of Susan Rowe, Artistic Director.

December 1st: Sugar Plum Fairy Tea Party in Florence
The South Carolina Dance Theatre will present the "Sugar Plum Fairy Tea Party" on Saturday, December 1, 2012 at All Saints’ Episcopal Day School, 1425 Cherokee Road, from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm. Hosted by the "Sugar Plum Fairy" and other members of the cast of the Company’s upcoming production of The Nutcracker Ballet, the tea party will feature refreshments and special events such as making ornaments, coloring Nutcracker pictures, photograph opportunities with the characters and autographs by cast members. Every ticket holder will be registered for drawings for door prizes and free tickets for the Nutcracker performance to be held the weekend of December 7th, 8th and 9th.
The Sugar Plum Fairy and other characters from the ballet will be in costume to add authenticity and excitement to the event. As children enter the tea party and the Land of Sweets, they will delight in the staging of the event with Nutcracker decorations and memorabilia. The Company Store will offer items pertaining to the Nutcracker and the Holiday Season at very affordable prices. Cameras are welcome to record the event, capturing memories with characters in costume. Attendees are welcome to attend the tea party in "dress up" costumes.
Tickets for the Sugar Plum Fairy Tea Party are $5 per person (adult or student) in advance or $7 each at the door and may be obtained from any Company member or by calling the South Carolina Dance Theatre at 669-3991. South Carolina Dance Theatre hosts Summer Camps
The South Carolina Dance Theatre will sponsor two summer camps this year during the weeks of June 18th and July 23rd. The week of June 18th will be "Princess Ballerina Camp" and the week of July 23rd will be "Dancers and Dolls Ballerina Camp. " Both camps will feature ballet instruction, crafts and fun activities related to dance. Both weeks will finish with tea parties and "dress up" day to showcase the dancers.
Under the direction of Susan Rowe, Artistic Director of the SCDT, quality dance instruction will be provided during the camps in an informal setting appropriate for the ages four (4) to eight (8). The cost for each camp is $100 with a non-refundable registration fee of $15. The camps are held at the Company’s studio at 1910-B Second Loop Road from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm each day.
The South Carolina Dance Theatre is a non-profit corporation founded in 1976 to encourage and nurture the artistic growth of dance as a performing art. Known for its annual production of "Nutcracker," the company has also presented "Cinderella" and "Sleeping Beauty" as well as other annual productions.
Miss Rowe is a graduate of the North Carolina School of Arts with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance. Former Ballet Mistress of the Les Ballets de Monte Carlo in Monaco and the Ballet du Nord in Roubaix, France, she was also a principal dancer with the Ballet du Nord as well as the Pacific Northwest Ballet in Seattle, Washington.
The SCDT specializes in teaching ballet and providing performance experience. A leader in dance education, the SCDT has a long and proud history of excellent instruction and service to the community through professional productions and ballet instruction. The Summer Camps are another outreach of the Company’s mission to promote dance as the most beautiful of all the arts.
